SmarterWill™ is a project of DirectLaw – one of the first virtual law firm platform providers. DirectLaw enables a solo or small law firm to offer a secure client portal to their clients integrated with a world class web-enabled document automation solution.
SmarterWill is designed to create a national branded network of estate planning law firms that offer online estate planning service through a SEO optimized web site that are linked to exclusive geographic marketing territories.
The SmarterWill concept has to goals:
- Offer affordable asset protection documents bundled with legal advice online to the broad middle class as an alternative to inferior non-lawyer legal document preparation sites such as LegalZoom, LegacyWriter, and LawDepot.
- Extend the brand of established estate planning law firms online enabling them to capture new online clients, serve existing clients more effectively, and generate new clients for their existing traditional office-based practice.
Smarter Will™ is serviced by a network of law firms offering legal services online through a virtual law firm platform.

Each law firm in our network has the capability of delivering legal services online and subscribes to the DirectLaw Virtual Law Firm Platform as part of a single subscription package.
Law firms who wish to be participate in this program, should have:
- At least two (2) years of experience as a licensed, practicing lawyer in estate planning. Estate planning should constitute at least 50% of your law practice.
- Never had their license to practice law or any other professional certification revoked or suspended in any way.
- No pending or impending grievance.
- Never been convicted of or plead guilty to any criminal charges.
- Never been denied professional liability insurance due to claims within the past fifteen (15) years.
- Never been a party to any malpractice lawsuits that have reached final disposition and resulted in any payment to a plaintiff during the past ten (10) years.
- Professional liability insurance.
The SmarterWill Web site concept was originally conceived and created by Attorney Anthony Perrelli, a well-known estate planning attorney in the Chicago area, where he helped hundreds of families and businesses plan and preserve their legacies. As an accomplished speaker, Anthony has led numerous estate planning seminars for individuals and businesses covering best practices in estate planning, living wills, and asset protection.
